Jeannie has stage 4 endometrial cancer and just found out that the medicine is not working. Chemo didn’t work, either. The cancer has spread. Next she will try two more medicines. She been married to her husband since 1987 and he is a big Chicago Bears fan. Jeannie is a Kansas City Chiefs fan. The two teams play each other in Kansas City September September 24, 2023. Jeannie wished to take her husband to this game to make a great memory.

294. Tobey Basinger

Tobey is a 42-year-old veteran who was diagnosed with metastatic oral cavity squamous cell carcinoma. Treatment was promising at first but quickly changed as of July 2023 and his current life expectancy is <12 months. Tobey has always wanted to see Steelers stadium and meet the players. This was a family trip that they were planning to do in the next 7-8 years. His kids are big fans because of their dad. They have three children, girls ages 20, 11 and a boy of 17. The family is trying to make Tobey’s dreams come true (although if you ask him he wants to spent as much time doing things with the family, no matter what it is as long as they are together). As a family, this is the one trip he talks about the most.

Tobey has been granted his wish to attend a Pittsburgh Steelers football game with game field passes!

293. Barb Thomas

Barb was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012. She went through chemo, radiation, & surgery. After 5 years, it was thought the cancer was gone for good. That wasn’t the case. In 2021 she was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer.

Barb’s kids are taking her to see the Kansas City Chiefs play the Detroit Lions in September. She’s a huge fan of the Chiefs and would love to meet Patrick Mahomes & some of the other players.

Stella’s Wish is working on getting them on-field passes before the game and a parking pass and we will be sending them a $300.00 gift card to spend at the game.

292. Ken Peek

Ken Peek is a 53-year-old teacher and coach. On May 5th, he was diagnosed with a primary brain tumor which was believed to be Glioblastoma. Further testing would prove this to be true. He does have a glioblastoma tumor, Stage 4, considered “wild” and “unmethylated.” Ken had surgery  and is undergoing radiation and chemotherapy.

Ken made a wish on behalf of his wife – to give her the honeymoon they never had. Ken and Christina are celebrating 5 years of marriage and are planning to renew their vows and dedicate living and loving each other as they battle this cancer together. They decided to live with nothing but positivity, prayer, love, and laughter. No negativity allowed.

Stella’s Wish is granting Ken’s request and the couple will finally get to go on the honeymoon they never had. They will be going to Big Cedar Lodge in Branson, Missouri for 2 nights.

290. Christopher Flood

Christopher is a 44-year-old husband and father to 4 young boys ages 14, 5, 3, and 1. He was diagnosed with Stage IV Colon Cancer a few days after his 44th birthday. He has been in active treatment since October 2022. He desires to make lasting memories with his sons. They’ve been trying to plan a family vacation but with Chris no longer working, they just simply aren’t able to afford it.

Chris’ wish has been granted and the family of 6 will be going to Holiday World in Indiana.

289. Daniel Wilke, Jr.

Daniel Wilke Jr. was diagnosed a year ago with stage 4 colon cancer. He is on chemo for life and the doctor recently told him he will never ring the “ bell”. He still tries to work even with being in and out of the hospitals and of late his magnesium level has gone critally low and needs infusions 1-3x a week.

Daniel made a wish to spend time with his wife and daughter at the Grand Hotel in Warren, Ohio (only 45 minutes from where they live)  to just have quiet time together. This hotel is close enough to his doctors and has a pool, golf course and yoga and spa for him to relax. His wife loves this man with all her heart and submitted the wish for him.

Stella’s Wish Foundation has granted Daniel’s wish and is sending the family to spend a few nights at the Grand Hotel to relax and enjoy time together.

287. Lynn Seaquist

Lynn Seaquist was diagnosed in March 2022 with stage 4 ovarian cancer. She is 55 years old and have 2 sons (ages 18 and 15) and a husband who has been an incredible caretaker to me. She completed her ‘frontline’ treatment in November but found out in January 2023 that it did not work as planned. She is currently in a clinical trial through Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. For over a year, she has been in constant treatment and would like to escape this cancer thought process for a little bit of time. She tries to remain as positive as possible for her children and husband.

Lynn’s family members have paid for a trip to Hawaii, so Stella’s Wish Foundation is helping with some excursions on the trip.

286. Lisa Pensabene

In October of 2020, Lisa was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. Her once fast-paced lifestyle has seemed to come to an abrupt stop after her diagnosis, leaving time only for doctor’s appointments, treatment and rest just to do it all again. They say fighting cancer is only half the battle, living life is the other half. Funds are extremely limited as they have become a one income household, with the added expense of copays, travel and lodging through the treatment process.

Lisa’s cancer has spread to her brain and she had to surrender her driver’s license (in case of seizures). The brain radiation side effects can last up to a year or more. Her main side effects are severe headaches, blurry vision, off balance & extreme fatigue.

Lisa made a wish to spend a few days in VT with their dogs at a dog resort during a short break in between treatments.

Stella’s Wish Foundation is granting them a 3-night stay at the Paw House Inn. https://www.pawhouseinn.com/
