319. Kristen Keenan

Kristen’s world was turned upside down when she was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer at the age of 41 and her liver was already completely covered with cancer. Due to the aggressive nature of her cancer, she will receive infusions every 3 weeks for the rest of her life and has had to give up her teaching career. The cancer is also in her brain and, combined with arthritis, causes a lot of mobility issues. She was also recently diagnosed with Sjogren’s Syndrome as a rare side effect of the cancer treatment, which also causes joint pain.

Kristen has always loved to garden and grow fresh fruits and vegetables, especially healthy cancer-fighting food to eat. It brings her joy, gets her outside, and is a great way to relieve stress. It is now too difficult for her to tend to the garden. Her husband made plans to build raised garden carts that are waist high but the building materials are just too much.

Stella’s Wish Foundation is providing a VISA gift card to use for raised bed materials so that Kristen can continue to grow her own vegetables.
